Preparing your skin for makeup is probably more important than you think. It is very important that you apply moisturizer and eye cream on your skin, and under-eye area before you put your foundation or powder on. This will allow for makeup to look smoother and will keep it looking fresh throughout the day. Even those of you with combination/oily skin types will benefit from this.

It is also a great idea to exfoliate using a face scrub at least once a week.  The reason being that your skin is constantly renewing itself and shedding the dead skin cells. By exfoliating, you are removing the dead skin cells that may be making your skin look dull, and lack-luster. The build up of dead skin cells also get in the way of flawless makeup applications. The dead skin cells must be removed in order for your makeup to sit nicer on your skin, and give you a flaw-free finish.

Some of my favorite face scrubs are made by companies such as: Peter Thomas Roth, and Shiseido
