Tips on How to Achieve some of my Favorite Grammy Makeup Looks

From Fuchsia lips, to dark defined Eyebrows, and Bold eyes, the Grammys was a night for celebrities to express themselves!! As always, there was many good, and  many bad. I will let you be the judge of that. Here are my Favorite Makeup Looks, and some tips on how to achieve them!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

To achieve Rihanna’s look, apply  concealer to your eyelids and then apply a silvery green eyeshadow by dabbing it onto your eyelids and under your eyes. Apply a neutral eyeshadow on your browbone, and blend a neutral brown eyeshadow into your crease.  Apply eyeliner on the inner rim of your eyes, and finish the look off with nice sparse false eyelashes.

To achieve Heidi Klum’s look, apply a neutral shimmery eyeshadow on your eyelids, and then an orangey bronze color under your eyes and into your crease. Add a dark brown color to the corners of your eyes, and then use a dark brown eyeliner to the top and bottom of your eyes. Follow with black Mascara.

To achieve Lady Gaga’s look, apply concealer to your eyelids, and follow with a green eyeshadow. Use a neutral peach eyeshadow in your crease to blend the green. Use a black gel eyeliner on top and bottom, and then follow with black mascara. Use a peachy-pink blush and a Fuschia Pink lipstick.

How to Achieve Flawless Makeup Looks from the Golden Globe Awards

From Halle Berry to Christina Aguilera and Nicole Kidman, these women had one thing in common: They had Flawless Red Carpet Makeup!! Here are a couple of the Top Makeup Trends at the Golden Globes, and how to achieve them!! Natural, Glowy, Flawless Skin-  Flawless Skin is always in! Achieve this by using a Liquid or Cream Foundation. Liquid Foundation will usually give you a more natural finish dewy finish, while Cream Foundation will allow for a fuller coverage. After applying your foundation of choice, use a translucent powder to set the foundation and take away excess shine. Make sure you don’t use a heavy powder as it will probably make your foundation look cakey.

Sexy Defined Eyes- A big trend at the Golden Globes was Sexy Defined Eyes. They were made up, without being over-done. You can achieve this smokin look with Neutral Shimmery Eyeshadows, a good Pencil Eyeliner, and a Thickening Mascara. Use a shimmery Brown eyeshadow all over your eyelid, and blend into the crease. Then, apply eyeliner to the top and bottom of your eyes, then smudge to give it a soft smokey effect. Go over the eyeliner with a darker shimmery eyeshadow to blend out the eyeliner even more. Finish your eyes off with a couple coats of Black mascara.

Pinky/Peachy Blush- Blush is a must!! Always!! It brightens up your face, and puts color back onto your face after you have evened it up with your foundation. To apply your blush and naturally contour your cheeks, start at the apples of your cheeks and blend in an upward motion toward the top of your ears. A blush with a soft shimmer will further help you achieve glowy skin.

If you are looking for the perfect Waterproof pencil Eyeliner that will not smudge and give you raccoon eyes, well this is it!! A fellow makeup artist reccommended this product to me and I figured I would give it a try. After all, it was less than $10!!! It is a very soft pencil that will stay where you put it! I fell in love with these eyeliners. In the picture above, I used the pencil under her eye, and smudged it out before it dried. I then put green eyeshadow over it to soften it. I have brought these photos to you from a recent photoshoot I did. Here are two of the hottest Makeup Trends for Fall ‘09!!

The first hot look is a very dark Smokey Eye, make sure to wing out the eyeshadow to elongate your eyes! Very Cleopatra-like!!  Keep the lips a very soft nude color, and define and darken your eyebrows.

The second look is a natural eye, no eyeliner and natural mascara. The main focus for this look will be your bold red lips!! Make sure to use a nude lipliner before the lipstick to stop the red lipstick from bleeding throughout the day.

And of course, Picture Perfect Skin is never out of style! To achieve that Flawless Finish, I used Daniel Chinchilla Cream Foundation on her!

Special Occasion or Not, Why Not Look Flawless All Day?

I had the pleasure of doing Makeup and Hair for the cover of LA Pinoy Magazine! It was a blast and everyone was so fun to work with.

I know its summer time and there will be alot of events to attend!! Weddings, Birthdays, etc. So why not look flawless all day? Right?

Well, we were on set shooting for LA Pinoy Magazine for about 9 hours. So just like any photoshoot, or event I do makeup for, I had to make sure that the makeup stayed flawless All Day. One thing that I used that is extremely important is a Foundation Primer. You must use a primer if you want your makeup to last all day. There are Silicone based primers, (which sometimes arent so good for your skin because they can clog your pores) and there are also some water based primers. One of my personal favorites is the Laura Mercier Primer. You just have to find the one that is best for your skin type.  After the primer, I used the Daniel Chinchilla Cosmetics Cream Foundation. I then set it with the Daniel Chinchilla Cosmetics Dual Powder. So regardless of what you’re doing,  these 3 products will ensure that your makeup will remain fresh and flawless!
